In order to be able to put air-pulsed jigging machines, in particular for processing minerals, successfully into operation and to be able to operate them successfully, they had hitherto to be provided with special valve control devices, compressed-air lines and the like, which involves an increased outlay in terms of material costs and operating costs. According to the invention, however, these disadvantages can be avoided in a simple manner in that the inlet and outlet opening (7) is arranged at such a great distance (a) below the upwardly terminating wall (13) of the air chamber (6) that, in the starting condition, the inlet and outlet opening (7) is permanently covered by the stationary water column located in the chamber (6) and, in the operating condition, the inlet and outlet opening (7) is permanently covered by the oscillating water column in the region of its upper turn-around point (b). In this manner, the entire quantity of the pulsed air is pressed out of the chamber into the outlet opening in a very advantageous manner by the water column oscillating upwards beyond the outlet opening and, as a result, a costly valve control system for maintaining a minimum level is no longer necessary since the pulsating water column in the air chamber takes over the function of a valve control system, specifically in that it periodically releases and closes again the inlet and outlet opening (7) of the air. <IMAGE>
