A method and apparatus for debubbling a liquid wherein the liquid is passed through an inlet means (7) to a debubbling chamber (5), with high energy ultrasonic waves being applied to the liquid in the inlet means and low energy ultrasonic waves being applied to the liquid in the debubbling chamber from respective ultrasonic sources (8,9) spaced from the inlet means (9) and debubbling chamber (5) respectively; there being a medium chamber (1) typically containing hot water in which the inlet means, debubbling chamber and ultrasonic sources are located.
