PURPOSE:To prevent a general efficiency of laser oscillation from being lowered when the laser output is low, by varying the rotation rate of fan blades circulating a gas laser medium enclosed in a circulation path according to a laser output, based on a signal from a laser output determining section. CONSTITUTION:An inverter 20 is connected to a commercial power source 13 driving a fan 11 so that a frequency of the commercial power source 13 and hence the roration rate of the fan 11 are controlled by the inverter 20. A laser output determining section 17 is electrically connected to the inverter 20 so that the inverter 20 receives a signal fed by the laser output determining section 17 and changes the rotation rate of the fan 11 according to the signal. Since the rotation rate of the fan is variable in this manner, it can be controlled appropriately so as to prevent a gas laser medium from circulating at an unnecessarily high rotation rate when the laser output is low. As a result, not only power consumption is decreased substantially but also a general efficiency of laser oscillation at a low output can he improved remarkably. |
