A bushing device which can be inserted into a wall of an apparatus housing of an electrical medium-voltage or high-current installation and is constructed in the form of an electrical conductor which is surrounded by insulating-material encapsulation, has (at one end of the electrical conductor) a contact socket for accommodating a connecting plug or a terminating cap which is free of voltage and (at the opposite end of the electrical conductor), has connecting means which emerge from the insulating-material encapsulation, for its contact-making connection to a current-carrying element which is located within the apparatus housing. The newly created bushing device is distinguished by the fact that the longitudinal region (30) of the electrical conductor (29/30) which faces away from the contact socket and emerges from the insulating-material encapsulation (28) has a length dimension which corresponds at least to the length of the insulating-material encapsulation or may be up to a multiple of this length. In consequence, direct connection of the electrical conductor to a functional device located in the apparatus housing or to an electrical busbar is possible, as a result of which an additional connecting element as well as an additional screwpoint are avoided, while at the same time more favourable dielectric and electrodynamic conditions can be achieved. <IMAGE>
