PURPOSE:To obtain the picture where the degree of blur is weak in the peripheral part, by defining an average value of densities of plural picture elements as the density of the center picture element in the unit processing area and circularly expanding the part to be blurred of the picture outward from the center of a designated area. CONSTITUTION:A microprocessor MPU indicates an area to be blurred on a picture memory 1 and a blur start point. When the blur start point is indicated, the MPU designates an address of the memory 1 to a memory read circuit 2 to read out picture element data in the processing area to a buffer memory 3. IN a first processing, for example, 3X3 picture elements in the designated area to be blurred are read out to an average value operating circuit 5. The MPU substitutes picture element data corresponding to the center picture element of the memory 1 with the average value on a basis of the operation result. In the second processing, a mask circuit 4 defines a picture element in the expanded circle as the center picture element to perform the similar average value processing. Each center picture element is substituted with the average value. This processing is repeated hereafter. Thus, picture elements are more blurred toward the start point. |
