A compact electrical plug connection 1 is described which consists of a male connector strip 2 and of a female connector strip 3 which can optionally be moved into and out of coupling engagement with one another. In the case of this compact plug connection 1, at least specific contact pins 8 on the male connector strip 2 are automatically short-circuited while the electrical compact plug connection 1 is uncoupled. For this purpose, female contacts 10 having limbs are allocated to at least one of the rows of contact pins 8, which are arranged close to the wall, on the male connector strip 2, whose contact limbs 12 are guided in slots 14 in the walls 6 and are held in contact with the plug pins 8, in a prestressed manner. The contact limbs 12 of the female contacts 10 having limbs have inclined surfaces 12b which run inclined from the walls 6 of the male connector strip 2 towards its base 5 and towards the contact pins 8, against which the end edges 3a of the female connector strip 3, which is in the form of a block, can be positioned. The contact limbs 12 of the female contacts 10 having limbs can be displaced transversely outwards in the slots 14 in the walls 6 of the male connector strip 2 by means of those side surfaces 3b of the block-like female connector strip 3 which are adjacent to the end edges 3a, and in consequence can be lifted off the plug pins 8 in order to interrupt the short-circuit connection. <IMAGE>
