PURPOSE:To obtain a stable image of good quality by reading the surface potential detected value of a no-image formation area on an image carrier which is detected by a surface potential detecting means and providing a correcting means for initial image formation conditions which are computed from the detected value and two difference values and stored in a storage means. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 21 for potential control stores data computed by arithmetic operation and logical operation and also stores detected value data from the surface electrometer 14 through an A/D converter 20. The microcomputer 21 outputs specific signals to various driving systems through a D/A converter 22 on the basis of a various data after arithmetic processing according to algorithm. The control of the microcomputer 21 for potential control over the respective driving systems including a developing bias voltage control circuit 8-1 consists of control at the time of the setting of the initial image formation conditions before an image forming device performs a process for image formation and control for correcting the initial image formation conditions during the process of continuous image formation by the image forming device. |
