In electric resistance heating elements with cold conductor elements it is extremely important not only that perfect contact between the cold conductor elements and the supply electrodes is ensured, but that good heat transfer from the cold conductor element to the casing enclosing it is also achieved. Otherwise the desired self-regulation becomes questionable. These conditions previously required a housing or a jacket, which covers and carries these parts and is common for them. However, this arrangement results not only in increased expenditures, but it also involves the danger that obstructions to the heat flow may occur and thus the self-regulation is more or less adversely affected. In order to solve these problems, according to the invention it is proposed to make the supply electrodes for the cold conductor elements elastic and to direct contact pieces lying on the elements in longitudinal grooves from both sides and at the ends of each contact piece to push a holder disc of insulating material onto the supply electrodes in such a way that these supply electrodes lie on the contact pieces with an initial tension.
