A round baler is provided with apparatus for tying a completed bale (76) with twine. The twine is carried back and forth along the rotating bale by an arm (102) moved by a first double-acting piston and cylinder unit (104) controll ed by an hydraulic circuit (384). In order to wrap the bale with net in addition to the twine a second double-acting piston and cylinder unit (376) is connected in the circuit (384) in parallel with the first unit. This second unit (376) acts to engage and disengage a drive (332, 334, 336) for feed rolls (244, 246) which advance the net from a roll (220) thereof to the bale. The second unit (376) also serves to cause the cutting of the net from the roll (220).
