PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material for back photographing which has high sensitivity, deceases pinholing and forms a sharp image with high contrast by providing a backing layer having a prescribed effective transmittance on a base on the side opposite from a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:A non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloid layer contg. a dye having a acidic group and basic mordant is provided adjacently to the silver halide emulsion layer coated and provided on the base. The backing layer having >=40% effective transmittance is provided on the base on the side opposite from the emulsion layer of said photographic sensitive material. An arbitrary dye having the acidic group is incorporated into the backing layer and the dye concn. is so adjusted that the effective transmittance attains >=40%. The basic mordant is preferably a high-molecular mordant having the basic group and the amt. of the mordant to be added is 2-100mg/m<2>, more particularly preferably 20-500mg/m<2>. |
