<p>PURPOSE:To analyze nitrododecane with high sensitivity by drawing a nuclear fuel retreating solvent contg. the nitrododecane, adding aqueous hydrogen thereto, thermally cracking the same in the presence of a nickel catalyst and subjecting the generated ammonia to amperometry. CONSTITUTION:The nuclear fuel retreating solvent 2 essentially consisting of tributyl phosphate and contg. the nitrododecane is kept run in a line 1. The solvent is sampled from the line 1 and the sample is put into a cracking vessel 7. The nickel catalyst is preliminarily added to the cracking vessel 7 and the gaseous hydrogen 8 is introduced into the cracking vessel 7 to thermally crack the nitrododecane and to generate ammonia. The ammonia is detected by an amperometric detector 11 by which the concn. of the nitrododecane is quantita tively determined. The nitrododecane is, therefore, detected at <=about 200ppm and the conditions for operating the distillation of the solvent are adjustable. The performance of the nuclear fuel extracting solvent is thus maintained.</p> |
