PROCESS FOR FORMING COLORED IMAGE.

This new process for forming a coloured image is composed of two steps, (I) and (II), (I) Imagewise exposure of a colour paper that has at least one light-sensitive layer. The light sensitive layer contains a core/shell type surface latent image-forming monodispersed silver halide emulsion (1), which has no silver iodide. The silver halide emulsion contains 80 mol.% or less silver chloride (better 2-50 mol.%) and has a smaller silver bromide content in the shell portion than in the core portion. (II) Developing with a benzyl alcohol-free colour developer within 150 secs. The fluctuation coefft. of the silver halide emulsion (1) is 0.15 or less. The mean particle size in (1) is between 0.1 micron and 2 micron expressed by the projected circle dia. method. The colour developer is an alkaline water soln. contg. mainly an aromatic prim. amine coupler e.g. p-phenylenediamine cpds. such as 3-methy-4-amino-N-ethyl-N- -methane sulphone-amine ethylaniline etc.
