PURPOSE:To obtain a small black body furnace with a better response, by providing a radiation tube in a cylindrical heat generating body in such a manner that both ends thereof are with a space thereabout while being mobile along the length thereof. CONSTITUTION:This furnace is made up of a cylindrical heat generating body 1 of silicon carbide or the like with both open ends thereof and a radiation tube (cavity section) 2 of silicon carbide located in the body 1. The radiation tube 2 is fixed on the heat generating body 1 with a space thereabout through a holding member 3 and a central bottomed section 4 is provided therein in such a manner as to be mobile along the length thereof. An orifice tube 12 is provided in the heat generating body 1 projecting on one side of the radiation tube 2 and the bottomed section 4 is enabled to be visually gauged with a radiometer 14 provided on a mounting base 13 fixed onto a holding plate 9. An output of the thermometer 14 is converted into a temperature signal by an arithmetic means 15 or the like to control voltage and power for the heat generating body 1 by a control means 16. The bottomed section 4 is visually gauged with a radiometer to be calibrated from the other opening. Thus, the radiation tube 2 is heated directly with a space thereabout by the heat generating body 1 thereby achieving a better response. |
