PURPOSE:To maintain the electric chargeability of a selenium-arsenic photosensitive body arbitrarily at a desired value by controlling the film forming speed at the time of forming a photosensitive layer on the surface of a conductive substrate by vacuum deposition of a selenium-arsenic alloy. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body 1 rotates in the direction of an arrow and is preexposed by the quantity of light of 300 times the half-attenuated exposure for the photosensitive body 1 by light 2 contg. much long wavelength component. The photosensitive body is then electrically charged by a corona charger 3 and the electric charge potential is measured by a probe 4. As a result, a correlation is admitted between the film forming speed of the photosensitive layer and the charge potential of the photosensitive body. The photosensitive body to be charged to the optimum potential in a process is, therefore, obtd. by adequately setting the film forming speed at the time of forming the photosensitive layer by the vacuum deposition of the selenium-arsenic alloy at the time of producing the selenium-arsenic photosensitive body. The need for adjusting the electric charger is eliminated with a copying machine. |
