PURPOSE:To detect a small pinhole in a short time, by sealing an open end of a container completely utilizing a fluid to use a gas for inspection. CONSTITUTION:A cup-shaped member 1 with a base section 2 is provided and the base section 2 is so formed to support a paper container 3, the inner surface of which is covered with an aluminum foil, with the open end 4 thereof downward. A water supply path 5, a helium supply path 11 and an exhaust path 12 are arranged separately. A drain path 8 is closed with a valve element 9, with a valve 7 closed, the container 3 is set with the open end 4 thereof downward and a measuring end 21 is placed on the closed end 23 thereof. In operation, helium is supplied with a valve 17 into the container 3 from a pressure helium supply source 16 while a valve 18 is opened to purge air in the container 3 outside. When a valve 17 is opened after valves 17 and 18 are closed, water is supplied into a member 1 to compress helium in the container 3 by a pressure according to the water level within a water tank 10. Under such a condition, the total amount of leak is measured with a helium feeder 22 while a fixed time elapses. |
