The electro-cardiogram electrode is produced from a long plate (26) with a conductive lining in the form of a separate strip (28) positioned in its longitudinal direction. It is stamped or cut out from the plate so that strip forms a complete lining, unbroken and with constant width. Silver halogenide is used as lining conductive material, and the electrode has a fixture with an adhesive coating for attachment to the body of a patient. From the fixture extends a prolongation for connection to measurement equipment, and the strip with conductive lining on the electrode extends uninterruptedly from the adhesive section over the prolongation part.
