PURPOSE:To obtain stable detection signal with high accuracy, by a method wherein an outer circumferential surface of a magnetic drum or a surface of magnetoresistance element block abutting on the magnetic drum is constituted by a non-magnetic sliding member, and the sliding member is slidably engaged with the magnetic drum by a spring material. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic recording is applied to a magnetic drum 3. Magnetic field by the magnetic recording is detected by a magnetoresistance element block 4 disposed at distance remote by definite thickness of non-magnetic sliding members 1 and 2, and the detection signal is drawn through an input/output lead wire 4 to outside. However, the magnetoresistance element block 4 is continuously pressed against a side of the magnetic drum 3 at a constant pressure by an angle 7 and a spring material 5a. |
