PURPOSE:To correctly execute a distance measurement against various scenes, and to obtain a photograph being free from out-focus, by switching to a spot distance measurement mode by operating a focus locking means. CONSTITUTION:When a distance measurement mode changeover switch 70 is set to a spot distance measurement mode, even if the sequence operation of a microcomputer 41 is started, a combination magnet 21 resets an image area sensor 28 as it is conducted electrically. After it is reset, a flash discharge tube 10 emits a light beam, and the light beam becomes a spot-shaped luminous flux L1, and for instance, illuminates a main object to be photographed, in a shape of a spot. A reflected light 32a is made incident on the image area sensor 28, and brought to a photoelectric conversion thereby. A signal read out of the image area sensor 28 is subjected to amplification and binarization processing, and thereafter, inputted to the microcomputer 41. Subsequently, a line to which a pixel being '1' belongs is detected, and the microcomputer 41 drives a motor 69 and positions a photographic lens 29. |
