PURPOSE:To maintain a transmission characteristic stable to external force by coupling optical fiber cores so as to integrate the same with a tensile bodies of a cable. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber core housing body 6 consisting of a thermoplastic synthetic resin is disposed around the tensile bodies 7 to provide at least one optical fiber core housing chamber 6A enclosing spirally the center line of the cable and having an aperture toward the outside in a radial direction. The optical fiber cores 1 are securely bonded to the wall surface of the housing chamber 6a by using an adhesive agent 2. The circumference of the optical fiber core housing body 6 is covered with a covering body 5. The covering body 5 is further clad by a cable sheath 4 to protect the optical fiber cores 1 against the damage by the external force. Namely, the optical fiber cores 1 are adhered to the optical fiber core housing body 6 and are, therefore, so bonded to the tensile bodies 7 as to behave integrally therewith. The same elongation characteristic as the elongation characteristic of the cable is provided to the optical fiber cores 1 when the tensile stress is exerted to the cable. |
