PURPOSE:To enhance processing stability by developing a silver halide photographic sensitive material in the presence of a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide photographic sensitive material is developed in the presence of the compound represented by formula I in which Ar is an substituted aryl group having a group represented by formula II; R1 is H, alkyl, or aryl; R2 is alkyl, aryl, or alkenyl; R3 is alkylene; and is 0 or an integer of >=1, thus permitting characteristics of high processing stability, high density, and high contrast to be obtained. |
