发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF MAGNET
摘要 PURPOSE:To facilitate coating the surface of a rare-earth iron magnet with titanium system material which has good adhesiveness and obtain the magnet with excellent centicorrosion properties and chemical resistant properties by a method wherein, when a film of metal titanium or titanium system compound is formed, a physical vapor deposition method is employed. CONSTITUTION:A film of metal titanium or titanium compound such as titanium, titanium nitride, titanium carbide or titanium oxide is formed by physical vapor deposition such as ion plating, sputtering or vacuum evaporation. As the surface of a rare-earth iron system magnet can be cleaned by surface etching called ion bombardment in a treatment chamber, a pretreatment with acid or alkali is not necessary so that the treatment and film formation can be carried out without erosion of the object to be treated caused by chemicals and the surface of the magnet can be coated with the titanium material which has excellent adhesiveness to iron system material. The rare-earth iron alloy produced like this has excellent anticorrosion properties and chemical resistant properties.
