The protective casing (3) for the sliding bolt of a door lock is trough-shaped, made of plastics material so that it can be fitted resiliently with a snap-action. At the open side, the edge of the casing is shaped to give the snap-action connection. The edge has a flange (6) for hooking round the edge of the material of the door (1). Behind the flange are projections (7) to give the required clamping action. At one side is a projecting vertical rib (5) for supporting and guiding the sliding bolt. The top and bottom walls slope inwards from the open side. ADVANTAGE - Easily fitted, excluding moisture and dirt.
