PURPOSE:A drug for external use, containing chelidonic acid as an active ingredient and useful as cosmetics having improved whitening effect and quasi-drugs having excellent preventing effect on liver-spot, ephelis, etc. CONSTITUTION:A drug for external use containing chelidonic acid expressed by the formula in an amount of 0.5-1.5% for cosmetics and 0.5-2.5% for quasi-drugs. The chelidonic acid has remarkable inhibitory effect on melanization and excellent whitening effect and preventing effect on liver-spot, ephelis, etc., and is safely used in the form of cosmetics, e.g. lotion, pack, milky lotion, cream, etc., or quasi-drugs, e.g. ointment, lotion, liniment, etc., without causing skin roughening, contact dermatitis, etc. |
