<p>PURPOSE:To improve display accuracy by tightly sticking a tape to a capstan at the time of inverting the traveling direction of a recording tape, and comparing output pulse width obtained from a frequency generator fitted to the capstan with a reference value to detect inversion. CONSTITUTION:In order to invert the traveling direction of the recording tape, a plunger 10 is driven and a pinch roller 5 is pressed against the capstan 4. Although a system controller 8 applies an inversion command to a reel motor control circuit 16, a reel motor is inverted with a system delay based upon the inertia of a traveling system. At that time, the output pulse width of the frequency generator 7 fitted to the capstan motor 6 is increased, and when the output pulse width exceeds the reference value, inversion is decided. Then, a tape traveling direction signal D is inverted and a counter circuit 19 is switched. Consequently, the switching of the counter coincides with the practical tape traveling direction and the accuracy of counting of tape traveling distances can be improved.</p> |
