In a combined thermal, cyclic process, which normally consists of a back pressure gas turbine and a conventional power-fired steam boiler, the exhaust gases from the gas turbine are cooled in an exhaust gas cooler according to the La Mont principle before they enter the power burner of the steam boiler. In this circuit, which consists of components known per se, the NOx emissions of the overall system are reduced. The previous cooling of the exhaust gases from the gas turbine influences the flame peak temperature in the power firing, which also results in the formation of the NOx compounds. The preferred coolant is water in the saturation condition, which is taken from the drum of the steam boiler. |
