PURPOSE:To certainly subject the mirror of a scanner to the dew condensation preventing effect even if a main switch is turned off on the way of copying by providing a means which moves a scanner unit to the home position in accordance with the signal from a scanner unit home sensor when the main switch of a copying machine is turned off. CONSTITUTION:A dew condensation preventing heater 16 is fixed to the copying machine body under mirrors 4, 5, and 6 in the home position of a scanner unit A, and a home sensor 17 which detects whether the scanner unit A is in the home position or not is provided on the scanner unit A. The normal close side of the turning-off contact of the main switch is used for the dew condensation preventing heater 16, and power is supplied to the heater 16 when the main switch is turned off. It is detected that the scanner is not in the home position when the main switch is turned off, and the scanner is returned to the home position, thereby surely subjecting the mirror of the scanner unit to the dew condensation preventing effect of the dew condensation preventing heater. |
