In the case of a mounting device for a helicopter cannon, the capability of the cannon to rotate and pivot are intended to be integrated in one mounting element. The cannon (7) is mounted on a cradle (5) such that it can move in response to recoil. The cradle (5) is arranged on a universal joint (2). Hydraulic drives (10 to 13) act on the cradle (5) at a point which is at a distance from the universal joint (2). These hydraulic drives (10 to 13) make it possible to aim the cradle (5) and hence the cannon (7). <IMAGE>
