Cleaning and degreasing plant for components, esp. metallic parts, comprises two concentric drums, the outer being a sieve drum. The drums are rotated in opposite directions and the outer surface of the inner drum and the inner surface of the outer drum are fitted with spirally treated rows of brushes which act to clean and to direct the parts through the gap between the drums. ADVANTAGE - A similar cleaning effect is achieved using alkali soln. in the drums as is achieved in plants using the toxic trichloroethylene and perchloroethylene without having the inherent pollution problems.
