In a device for dentists comprising a spindle (5) and a drill, the end (5') of the spindle is provided with a radial slot (6). The end has a support surface (5''') for the hub (2) of the grinding wheel (1). The free end (5') of the spindle projecting beyond the support surface (5''') has a convex or double truncated peripheral cone surface. In this way the spindle (5) and wheel are rotationally linked by pressure on the hub (2) of the wheel, thereby causing the peripheral surface to engage in a groove (7) in the hub (2). Maximum penetration of the circumference of the wheel (1) into the spaces between the teeth is ensured by this design, since the free end (5') of the spindle (5) does not project beyond the grinding wheel (1) and therefore does not constitute an obstacle.
