For the non-positive fastening of a roller (5) on a shaft (7), use is made of a resiliently deformable coupling element which is vulcanised into the material of the roller (5). The coupling element comprises a spring washer (1) which is provided with radial slots in such a manner that tongues (3) result, whose free ends (6) are directed towards the centre of the washer. In the unstressed condition of the spring washer (1), the ends (6) of the tongues (3) lie on a circle whose diameter is smaller than the diameter of the shaft (7). <IMAGE>
