A pattern cutting tool for textile material packs has a reciprocating cutter blade, guided in a vertical stand which is joined to a flat foot to pass underneath the pack. The stand has a cooling channel with branches leading to the blade slot, to both sides, for cooling purposes and to the underside of the foot to create an air cushion. ADVANTAGE - This prevents frictional heat from causing the cut faces to smear or become sticky.
