<p>Method for continuous production of mineral wool slabs from a mineral wool web consisting of mineral wool fibres collected on a perforated conveyor belt in an airborne state, to which fibres a curable binder has been added during or before the collecting, said binder being cured under compression of the mineral wool web to a desired density between two compression bands during the curing. To impart to the finished mineral wool slabs a varying density in the direction of thickness of the slabs in order to attain improved strength properties, at least part of the web is compressed before the curing in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the web in such a way that a permanent compression of the mineral wool will result compared to the remaining part of the mineral wool web.</p> |
