<p>An article in the form of a projectile (10, 50), a shock-sensitive switch (101, 110) or a sabot (131) having an active component of shape-memory alloy (14, 56, 104, 114, 130) which exhibits the shape-memory effect to provide a mechanical movement in response to a pressure wave passing through the article. A thermal enhancement component (15, 55, 103, 113, 132) which rapidly generates heat to initiate the shape-memory effect is also disclosed.</p> |
