PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reliable magnetic resistant dial plate free from electrochemical corrosion without use of a magnetic resistant plate, a magnetic resistant piece or the like, by a method wherein the surface of an iron-based magnetic resistant dial plate undergoes a surface treatment such as decorative plating and finish painting and subsequently, a zinc plating or the like is applied on the back alone thereof. CONSTITUTION:After subjected to application of a pattern such as radiation and streak and working such character blanking 5 and foot 6 attaching, a grounding is applied on a base material 1 of an iron-based magnetic resistant dial plate made of electromagnetic soft iron, an ion-nickel alloy (Permalloy) or the like by 1mum of non-electrolytic nickel plating to compose a decorative plated layer 3 and 0.1mum of non-electrolytic plating is conducted for decoration. Then, a finish painted layer 2 made of polyurethane-based material or the like excellent in the weathering and chemical resistance is formed by spray painting. After the work is baked and dried, only the back thereof undergoes a zinc plating 4 such as magnesium pyrophosphate-based one. After the plating, a colored chromate compound treatment may be conducted. |
