In a fuel injection device for internal combustion engines, in particular for diesel engines, comprising a fuel injection pump (10), a fuel delivery pump (12) and a fuel injection shut-off system (19) in the event of a fault, said system consists, in order to provide high speed operation of the shut-off system (19), of a chargeable spring (20) which can be loaded by means of the delivery pressure of the delivery pump (12) and of an electromagnetically operator control valve (27). The chargeable spring (20) is linked, via its storage chamber (22) to the outlet of the delivery pump and via its spring chamber (23) to the inlet of the intake chamber (11) of the injection pump (10). The control valve (27) connected to the outlet of the delivery pump (12) is normally closed and, in order to shut off the fuel injection, opens up a by-pass (26) leading to a fuel container (13). A feed valve (17) and a spill valve (17, 18) located upstream and downstream of the intake chamber (11) ensure its closure in the event of a fault and the setting of a constant pressure in said chamber during normal operation. |
