Process for the microbial degradation of contaminants

The microbial degradation of, in particular, organic contaminants in the soil, groundwater and in isolated bodies of water can be achieved without introducing artificially bred microorganisms merely by the microbes which are already present in a technically relevant manner by carrying out the following process steps: a) identification of the activity of microorganisms which are suitable for degradation and which are present at the site of contamination, b) repeated application of a measured, large amount of mineral fertilisers and the mineral oxygen carriers as a function of the activity which has been identified to the surface of the site of contamination together with a quantity of liquid suitable for seeping into the site of contamination, and c) monitoring the degradation activity to determine the repeated additions of the mineral fertilisers and the mineral oxygen carriers.
