PURPOSE:To secure a high performance even if the length of a ferrule and dimensions of a mechanical reference plane of a housing are made rough, by setting the height difference between an optical reference plane and a mechanical reference plane in the plug side and adjusting the height difference between an optical reference plane and a mechanical reference plane in the jack side to fix the ferrule. CONSTITUTION:A ferrule 1 having optical reference planes 1a and 1b is inserted to a center hole 2-1 of a housing 2, and dimensions f1 of the height difference in the plug side between the optical reference plane 1a of the ferrule 1 and a mechanical reference plane 2a of the housing 2 are adjusted to fix the ferrule 1 with a set-screw 4, thereby setting the position precision in the plug side. Thereafter, a stopper 3 inserted to the housing 2 is rotated to move a mechanical reference plane 2b in the direction of an arrow A or B in parallel by the internal screw of a slide part 2-3 and the external screw of the stopper 3, thereby easily finely adjusting dimensions f2 of the height difference in the jack side between the reference plane 2b and the optical reference plane 1b. It is unnecessary to finish lengthwise dimensions of optical reference planes 1a and 1b of the ferrule 1 and the position of the mechanical reference plane 2a of the housing with a high precision, and the position precision of optical reference planes and mechanical reference planes is improved by adjustment. |
