The invention relates to a wheel (1) for a horse drawn racing carriage. Two congruent cover plates (5) which have the form of a stretched S in an axial section are provided as the bearing structure between the hub (2) and rim (3). The plates bear against one another (B) in the region of the rim (3) and are bonded there to the rim with the aid of an elastic adhesive (13). On the hub side, the cover plates are supported on the hub by means of an axially parallel endpiece (6) and engage in an incision (7) in which they are likewise bonded with the aid of an elastic adhesive (9). <IMAGE>
