An ink jet printer for multiple printing on a recording medium, in which an ink jet print head is provided, which comprises seven groups of nozzles to which inks, formed as basic colours, are fed separately in each case. The nozzles are actuated and designed in such a way that the ink dots on the recording medium have the same diameter.
