A tamper-resistant package comprises a first part (10) having an opening (13) and a second part (11) positionable closely adjacent the opening (13) of the first part (10). Both first part (10) and second part (11) are fastened by a plurality of staples (12). Each staple (12) has a crown (36) and first and second legs (33, 34) the first legs (33) are driven into the first part (10) and the second legs (34) driven into the second part (11). The legs (33, 34) of the staples (12) include disrupting means such as barbs (42) for digging into the first (10) and second (11) parts and rending or tearing the parts (11, 12) upon withdrawal of the staples (12) so as to provide evidence of tampering. |
