A description is given of a device for balancing alternating torques about the longitudinal axis of reciprocating-piston crankshaft machines arising from gas forces or inertia forces, these reciprocating-piston crankshaft machines in each case having a crankshaft (3) mounted in a fixed machine casing (1) and connected to reciprocating pistons. To compensate these alternating torques, at least one balancing mass (6) driven in rotation in a constant angular relationship in the opposite direction to the crankshaft (3) is to be provided, the moment of inertia of which is to correspond essentially to the moment of inertia of the flywheel mass (4) arranged on the crankshaft multiplied by the reciprocal value of the speed transmission ratio between the balancing mass and the crankshaft. <IMAGE> |
