Device for protecting an alternating current distribution network against short circuit currents, and appropriate breaker-limiter. A downstream breaker (1) generates a signal (S) for neutralising the opening of the contacts of an upstream braker-limiter (D2) when the downstream current exceeds a neutralisation threshold lower than the triggering threshold and/or the limitation threshold of (D2). The upstream breaker-limiter (D2) presents in parallel a couple of head-to-tail thyristors (TH1, TH2) and a control circuit (16) for the triggers of the thyristors, said circuit making one of the thyristors passing in response to the signal (S) to inhibit (D2) during at the most one alternation. |
