摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance decomposing removal capacity of unreacted alcohol, by supporting platinum dinitrodiamine by a porous refractory inorg. material and subsequently applying heat-treatment to the supported inorg material at 600-900 deg.C to form an exhaust gas purifying catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A catalytically active substance using platinum dinitrodiamine as a platinum source and further containing at least one kind of a compound selected from palladium and rhodium in a range of pt/(Pd+Rh)=1-40(atomic ratio) with respect to platinum is supported by a porous refractory inorg. base material in a dispersed state. Subsequently, the supported inorg. material is heat-treated at a temp. range of 600-900 deg.C to prepare a catalyst for purifying exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine using alcohol as fuel. The porous refractory inorg. base material comprises activated alumina or titania and is pref. used in a pellet shape or in the form of the coating layer on the inner wall surface of a porous refractory three-dimensional structure.
