PURPOSE:To provide adjustability for braking force by furnishing a piston with a through hole to allow communication of oil from inside the head chamber to inside a rod chamber and vice versa, providing the rod with a valve plate to block part of said through hole, and thereby changing viscosity of the oil. CONSTITUTION:When a rod 3 is elongated, the space between a close lid 7 and a float piston 11 in cylinder 1 is filled with oil 2. If leftwise force F1 is applied, the rod 3 moves to the left together with a piston 4, and a projecting cylinder 14 of a valve plate 10 mounted on the shaft 9 of rod 3 intrudes in a through hole 8 in piston 4. Now the oil 2 in the head chamber 5 passes through a small dia. throttle hole 15 provided in the valve plate 10 and projecting cylinder 14, and flows into the rod chamber 6 via the through hole 8 so as to apply brakes to the contraction stroke of the rod 3. At this time, the size of the braking force is determined by viscosity of the oil 2 passing through the throttle hole 15as long as the section area of the min. dia. part of throttle hole 15 is constant. |
