PURPOSE:To eliminate a scanning direction conversion circuit by inverting the left and right of either video of displays for left eye and for right eye with the aid of a mirror and correcting the deviation in the distance of image occured by the defference of light path length by means of varying the light path length from the display screen of the display to a watcher. CONSTITUTION:An image light displayed on a display 4a for a left eye passes through a polarizer 5a to become left 45 deg. of straight polarized light and passes through a half mirror 6 in the state of left 45 deg. of straight polarized light. And the image light displayed on a display 4b for a right eye passes through a polarizer 5c to be right 45 deg. of straight polarized light, which is reflected by a mirror 9 to be left 45 deg. of straight polarized light inverting the left and right of the image and it is reflected by the half morror 6 to invert the left and right of the image, that is, it becomes right 45 deg. of straight polarized light having a normal relation of the left and right of the image. And also the deviation in the distance of image occured by the difference between the light path lenght from the display screen of the display 4a for the left eye to a watcher 8 and the light path length from the display screen of the display 4b for the right eye to the watcher 8 by using the mirror 9 can be corrected by a distance adjusting device 10. |
