PURPOSE:To newly add a function program and to execute the program by providing the titled device with a means for additionally storing the function program to be added by a specific function code in a program memory part. CONSTITUTION:An IC card as a portable electronic device is constituted of a control element 15 to be a control part, a non-volatile data memory 16 capable of erasing its stored contents as a data memory part, a program memory 17 as a program memory part, and a contact part 18 for obtaining electric contact with a card reader/writer. A function program to be added by a specific function code is additionally stored in the program memory 17. |
