PURPOSE:To increase charge-discharge cycle life by mixing a specified amount of metal having lower melting point than a Li-Al alloy to the Li-Al alloy powder, supporting on a conductive substrate, and baking to form a negative electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. CONSTITUTION:10-90vo % of a metal having lower melting point than Li-Al alloy, such as short Sn fiber, based on the Li-Al alloy is mixed to an electrode active material comprising Li-Al alloy containing beta-phase. They are supported on a conductive electrode substrate, and baked at temperature at which the Li-Al alloy do not melt to form a negative electrode of nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. Thereby, the Li-Al alloy is strongly supported on the electrode substrate with conductivity surely retained. The charge-discharge cycle life in relatively high current density such as 5mA/cm<2> is remarkably increased. |
