PURPOSE:To inexpensively provide a recorder simple in construction, small in size and thin in form, by arranging recording elements, e.g., heat generating elements on the back side of a smooth plate formed of a material having a high thermal conductivity and serving also as a reflector for a liquid-crystal display part. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 5 provided on the side of a lower surface 4B of a smooth reflector 4 is provided with heat generating elements 50-1-50-N, the number N of which is equal to the number of column patterns 24-1-24-N. When recording, a voltage is applied selectively between driving electrodes 51-1-51-N and a common electrode pattern 52 to cause the heat generating elements 50 to generate heat, thereby recording on a recording paper 8. The smooth reflector 4 is formed of a material having relatively favorable thermal conductivity, such as aluminum, so that a heat accumulation phenomenon is prevented from occurring in the thermal head 5 constituted of the heat generating elements 50. With the reflector formed of a material having a favorable thermal conductivity and with the recording elements arranged on the opposite side of the reflector to constitute a recording part, a recorder can be realized which is extremely thin in form, small in size, light in weight and low in cost. |
