PURPOSE:To obtain an effective air-cooled cooling device of the root part of a cylinder by a method wherein a flange is tightly mounted to the root part of the cylinder of an injection molder so as to blow compressed air from the tip of a nozzle to one end of an air passage formed in the flange. CONSTITUTION:A flange 6 is tightly fitted to the root part of a cylinder 4, on the periphery of which band heaters 5 are mounted. An air passage 11 surrounding the periphery of the cylinder 4, which pierces the center of the flange 6, is formed within the flange 6. An air nozzle 12 is fixed to the one end of the air passage 11, which is an passage with both open ends and the other end of which is the exhaust port 13 of air. A temperature sensor 14, which is mounted on the hopper side of the flange 6 at the root part of the cylinder, opens a solenoid valve so as to send compressed air to the air nozzle 12, when the temperature measured with the temperature sensor 14 exceeds the predetermined temperature. Accordingly, the temperature of the flange 6 does not exceeds said predetermined temperature. |
