PURPOSE:To consecutively process plural input/output (I/O) equipments while scheduling each equipment of I/O equipments by referring to the respective management tables for I/O equipments and data buffers to instructs the pre- processing of other I/O equipment prior to the end of data transmission. CONSTITUTION:The microprocessor 7 of a magnetic tape controller 10 controls, based on a program in a memory 8, the multiplex data transmission to a main storage 2 executed by I/O equipments of plural cartridge type magnetic tape unit (MTU) 9 whose leading times are the same. In the memory 8, management tables to manage the operations of the MTU 9 and a data buffer 5 that is used in divisions at every the MTU 9 are provided as well, by referring to those tables, a processor 7 instructs a pre-processing necessary for transmission processing to such one of the MPUs 9 that processes the transmission next to the current one, before the end of the current data transmission processing. As a result, the plural MPUs can consecutively execute the data transmission continually and efficiently without any interruption due to pre-processing while scheduling each equipment of plural MPUs. |
